Every dish tells a story about Chinese-inspired flavors and American-crafted ingredients. But the story of Panda Express is much bigger than American Chinese food. Panda Express is owned and run by an Asian-American family, the Cherngs. Together, we’re celebrating the power all cultural mash-ups have to inspire legitimate new cultures and identities across America.

As part of the dish launch for the iconic American Chinese dish, General Tso’s Chicken, Panda Express partnered with the Chinatown Summer Nights festival in Los Angeles. At the event, a panel of six speakers gave their unique perspectives on American Chinese food, cultures and communities. That event sparked the idea to create original video content exploring the concept of all things origins and originality in the American Chinese mash-up.
