Following a presentation at the 4A’s Transformation Conference in March, Doug Hagge was invited to lead a judging committee for this year’s Jay Chiat Awards for Strategic Excellence. The competition recognizes the best strategic thinking in marketing, media and advertising around the world.
Doug will sit alongside four other chairs from McCann; Goodby, Silverstein & Partners NY: Starcom Mediavest Group, Chicago; and CHI & Partners NY; each assigned to judge one of the five categories:
Each chair is joined by a committee of judges, and Doug will welcome four individuals from both client organizations and agencies to judge the Regional Strategy category, including Bailey Lauerman client Andrea Cherng, Chief Marketing Officer for Panda Restaurant Group, Inc.
“It’s really an honor to be selected to judge alongside this panel of some of the top strategists in the industry,” said Hagge. “And I’m joined by an amazing set of judges for the Regional Strategy category, including a terrific client of ours. I am looking forward to seeing the imaginative approaches from the entries, something we are free to explore here under the bright blue Nebraska skies.”
Trophies are given for Gold, Silver and Bronze winners, and a Grand Prix prize is awarded to the one entry that the executive judging panel deems to be the best of all the papers submitted across all categories. The shortlist is announced the week of August 11, and the awards will be presented at the 4A’s Strategy Festival, October 5-7 in Chicago.
The Grand Prix winners of the 2013 Jay Chiat Awards were 72andSunny for Samsung in Strategy, and JWT, Cairo for Vodafone Egypt in Innovation.
